ROLAND GERVAIS After a courageous battle with cancer, Roland Gervais beloved husband of Georgette (nee Bilodeau) passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 80 years. He leaves to mourn his children Lucille (Greg a.k.a. Garth) McTaggart, Marc, Gilbert, Maurice (Rhonda), Raymond (Liette), Jacqueline and grandchildren Carmen, Jaydra and Skyler. He was predeceased by his parents Raoul and Rose De Lima Gervais and brothers Richard and Arthur. Roland worked for 41 years as a foreman at Federal Pioneer Electric. He was actively involved as Treasurer in the Native Sons and was a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus. As a member of the Précieux-Sang Parish and of the Club LaVérendrye, Roland devoted many years as a volunteer bingo caller. A heartfelt thank you to all who visited him during his five month stay at St. Boniface Hospital and to those who supported the family through prayers and concern. Much appreciation to Dr. Taylor, Dr. Montgomery, Ginette Abraham (Cancer Care) and the caring staff on the 7th and 5th floors, and especially in the end on 4E. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28 at Précieux-Sang Roman Catholic Church, 200 Kenny Street. Interment to follow at St. Boniface Cemetery.
