Pierre spent over 40 enjoyable years with the CNR, beginning when he was 16 as a messenger and ending in customer services. He was a longtime member of the Bel Acres Golf and Country Club. In his younger years he enjoyed all sports and was very active in baseball and played hockey with the Winnipeg Monarchs and goalie for the Montreal Canadian farm team in Flin Flon.
