MOFFA It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mario Moffa on Sunday, June 15, 2008 at the Victoria General Hospital at the age of 82 years. Mario was born in Bronx, New York on December 10, 1925 and attended the Bronx High School, in 1941 and 1942 he was recognized for his high scholastic achievement. Before attending university he served his country in the United States military with the 1290th Engineering Battalion in Central Europe, and was awarded a Second World War Victory Medal. After an honorable discharge from the United States Military on July 7, 1946 Mario went on to attend New York University, Washington Square College of Arts Science where he made the Dean's Honor List in both February and June of 1950. He graduated from Florida Southern College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1951. He eventually moved to Winnipeg, where he lived until his passing. In keeping with Mario's wishes, a graveside funeral will be held on Thursday, June 26 at 2:00 p.m. in Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU CO.
