I found myself thinking about Cory today, and found this memorandum online and thought to let the family know, Cory will never be forgotten. You might remember me as the girl that made a poem about Cory when he passed away. I spent a lot of time with him and a few of his friends in that small circle, with my cousin Chantal Mattis. I just adored Cory. I was really young at the time, but boy oh boy did I have such a huge crush on him. Who could blame me, with that smile he had and you know, I thought he was a little shy and quiet just like me, because he didn't seem to be as loud or boisterous as the other guys were in our friend circle--but really I was much too shy to admit my crush to anyone, much less to him! When he passed I was devastated and couldn't make sense of it. His passing showed me at a really young age how life is fleeting and fragile. That such a bright young boy could be taken just like that was completely incomprehensible to me. Much love to Cory's family, I hope this message at least puts a smile on your faces and lets you know, Cory's memory lives on forever in so many people, even after all these years.
