SOFIA ILAO ILAGAN September 30, 1928 - July 22, 2008 Peacefully on July 22, 2008 surrounded by the love of her family, Sofia was called home to her Lord and Saviour. Sofia was predeceased by her husband Juan, parents Zacarias and Maxima, son Victorio and grandson Eddie Boy. She is survived by three daughters, Erline (Eddie) Carbaguio, Emy (Arturo) Magsumbol, Nenette (Joe) Elegado of Papau New Guinea and one son Diosy (Emie) and family of Toronto, ON, daughter-in-law Delia of the Philippines. Also left to mourn are her grandchildren, Rochelle, Michael, April, Archie, Ryan (Maybelle), Joy (Ken), Jasmine (Ed), Rico (Analyn), Joy (Dennis), Eva (Bobot), Rommel, Racqul, Albert, Jay-Jay, Ginalyn and Ralph; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Alexis, Angelica, Vincent, Carla, Irish, Toto and Bryan. Sofia was born and raised in the Philippines where she met and married Juan in 1946. They moved to Winnipeg in 1989 where she raised four of her grandchildren. A special thanks to Teody and Josie Castillo, Cora de los Reyes, Monsignor Enrique Samson of St. Peter's Parish, Dr. Milambilang and the staff of A4 Health Sciences Centre and Lodge 4 Deer Lodge Centre. Lamay and Prayer Services to be held on Friday, July 25, 2008 and Saturday, July 26 at Mosaic Funeral Chapel commencing at 6:00 p.m. and concluding at the request of the family. Prayer service will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday evening at Mosaic Funeral Chapel. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, July 29 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 748 Keewatin St. Monsignor Enrique Samson Celebrant. Interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Ave. Family and friends are invited back to Mosaic's Reception Centre for a time of fellowship and refreshments after the interment.
