JOSEPH STETCH INTO THY HANDS LORD Suddenly but peacefully, surrounded by family, our deeply loved husband, father, gigi/grandfather was called to be with the Lord. He passed away Thursday, July 24, 2008 at the Concordia Hospital at the age of 90 years. Dad was born March 18, 1918 to Wasyl and Parashka (Nakonechny) Stec in Rossburn, Manitoba. He met, and married Jean Hutz, on December 6, 1942 in Winnipeg. What a blessing that he (the baby of his family) reached 90 and that he and mom enjoyed 65 years and seven months of marriage! Dad retired from Greater Winnipeg Gas in March 1983, and he truly enjoyed his many years of retirement. His health has been declining over the last several years, but his positive outlook, (rarely did he complain) storytelling, jokes, and smile was felt by all who came into contact with him. How he loved his family, but most important to Dad was the unconditional and endless love he had for Mom. They always said I Love You , (at least a dozen times a day)! Dad is survived by his Starenka , wife Jean; his children, Garry (Louann), Shirely Mydlo (Ed), Annette Storzuk, Joseph Jr. (Penny), Gail Neufeld (Glenn), David (Adrianne), and Janet Forbes (Glen). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Dad was predeceased by his parents, all his siblings (Dad was the last of his family), and son-in-law, Bud Storzuk. A private family funeral service will be held at Knysh Funeral Chapel at 1161C Fife Street (corner of Fife and Church) in accordance with Dad's wishes, with cremation after the service. Rev. Fr. Isidore Dziadyk officiating. We would like to thank Dr. Terry Babick, and the wonderful staff on the 5th floor and St. Paul's Unit 2nd Floor at Holy Family Nursing Home for their kind and compassionate care of Dad over these past few months. Thank you also to the staff at Knysh Funeral Chapel for all of your compassion during this time. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Dad's memory to CancerCare Manitoba or the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation. DAD WE LOVE YOU!
