Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRICHARD (RICK) HALIPCHUK On Tuesday, August 5, 2008, Rick Halipchuk, beloved husband of Cathy Halipchuk, and beloved father of Ashley and Sara, Cooks Creek, MB, died accidentally at the age of 52 years. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 11 at 10:00 a.m. in the North Kildonan Mennonite Brethren Church, 1315 Gateway Road at Springfield, with Reverend Don McIntyre officiating. Cremation with private interment at a later date. Predeceased by his father, Walter Halipchuk in 2002 and his mother-in-law, Madeline Rey in 2005. Rick is survived by his loving wife Cathy, his daughters, Ashley (Noel) and Sara, his mother Stella Halipchuk, Oakbank, MB, his three brothers, Merlin (Brenda) Halipchuk, Cooks Creek, MB; Barry Halipchuk, Winnipeg, MB; and Walt (Kristine) Halipchuk, Tsawwassen, BC, his father-in-law, Raymond Rey, Kipling, SK; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gary Rey, Kipling, SK; Dwayne Rey, Montmartre, SK; Donna Rey, Winnipeg, MB; and Michael (Laurie) Rey, Wolseley, SK, as well as his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends. Rick was born in Winnipeg, on April 14, 1956, he grew up in the Cooks Creek area and he married Catherine Ann Rey on April 9, 1983. Rick began his working career with Flyer Industries, then joined the aviation industry and worked for Standard Aero and most recently joining Atlantic Turbine earlier this year. Rick had a passion for life and the people he served, his customers could totally count on Rick, thus building long lasting relationships. His greatest joy was his entire family; he was extremely proud of Cathy, Ashley and Sara and always referred to Cathy his wife of 25 years as his bride. He loved living in the country and spent countless hours keeping his yard immaculate. Rick will be remembered with love and sadly missed by all who knew him.
