MINNIE PLETT (nee SHIER) May 24, 1913 - August 19, 2008 Peacefully on August 19, 2008 at 6:40 p.m. at Donwood Manor Personal Care Home, Minnie Plett passed away at age 95 years. Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed from the arms of her loving family into the arms of her Heavenly Father. Cherishing precious memories are her children, son Gerald (Grace) Plett, grand-children, Christine (Eduard) Klassen, Graham (Deborah) Plett, Jonathan (Kristin) Plett; daughter Elaine (Leonard) Peters, grand-children, Sherryl Peters, Kevin (Natasha) Peters, Brent Peters; daughter Carolyn (Brad) Nance, grandchildren, Lindsay Nance, Allison Nance; and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Olga Shier, Sue Plett and Tina Barkman, nieces and nephews. Minnie was predeceased by parents Adam and Amelia Shier, six brothers and two sisters. Minnie was a devoted, caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was always looking for ways to meet the needs of others. Viewing will be held on Friday, August 22, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street with interment immediately following in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Celebration of her life will be held following the interment at 4:00 p.m. at McIvor Avenue Mennonite Brethren Church, 200 McIvor Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Donwood Manor Personal Care Home, 171 Donwood Drive, Winnipeg, MB R2G 0V9. The family expresses sincere thanks to all first floor staff of Donwood Manor for their care and love to Mom and her children.
