ANN SQUIRES Suddenly, on August 23, 2008, at her home in Transcona, Ann Squires, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away at the age of 85 years. She was predeceased by her husband Ed in 1990. Ann was born in Ede, Gelderland, Holland on August 10, 1923. She had been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion No. 7 for many years and was an active volunteer with Meals on Wheels up until her passing. She leaves to mourn her passing, her six children, Christine of Grande Prairie, Alberta, Barb (Roger), Ed (Cheryl), Leonard (Jacquie), Barry (Nicole), Marguerite (Robert), all of Winnipeg. Grandchildren: Sheldon, Shawn, Shane (Kari), Shanley, Kathleen (Jordan), Stephen, Christine, Chantal, David, Kimberley, Michael, Daniel, 10 great-grandchildren, special friend and companion, Dave Stimpson, and long time friend and neighbour, Hermyn Meulenkamp (Dutchie), as well as other numerous relatives and friends. Prayers and viewing will be held Tuesday evening, August 26, between 7:00 and 8:00 pm, at Transcona Funeral Home, 1800 Day Street. Funeral services will be held Wednesday August 27, at 2:00 pm., also at the chapel with Rev. Jeff Cook officiating. Burial to follow at Transcona Cemetery with a lunch thereafter at the Royal Canadian Legion No. 7.
