ROBINSON October 20, 1922 - August 29, 2008 It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of our dear Husband, Father and Grandfather, Douglas H. Robinson on Friday August 29, 2008 at the age of 85. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 60 years, Pauline; son James Robinson (Pat); daughter Diana Robinson (Richard); son Fred Robinson (Candice); daughter Sharon Boch (Ralph); daughter Nancy Robinson (Peter); grandchildren, Kristjan, Paula, Victor, Andrew, Chantel, Kyle, Aylisa, McKenzie, great-granddaughter Belle and many relatives and friends. Douglas was born on October 20, 1922 in Brandon, Manitoba, and served his country with pride in the Second World War from 1942 to 1945, when returning from the war he worked for the post office until his retirement in 1977 he loved working there and made many friends. He also enjoyed his Saturday walks to the St. Vital Legion where he was an active member and enjoyed the company of friends. Douglas spent his 30 years of retirement in East Bay, Manitoba gardening his vegetables, taking care of his fruit trees and just spending time there. The family would like to thank the staff at Deer Lodge Centre for all their care and support they gave to dad. Celebration of Douglas life will be held on Saturday, September 6, at 1:00 p.m. in the Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 211 Regent Avenue, West.
