LLOYD ROGER MASON September 6, 1945 - September 8, 2008 It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our husband, father, grandfather and brother Lloyd Roger Mason at his home at Rock Lake on September 8, 2008. He was predeceased by his parents Frank and Vina Mason. Left to celebrate his life are his loving wife of 40 years Shirley, daughters Shannon (Chris) and Sherrie (Scott) and son Lee (Leanne), grandchildren (Kiersten, Madison, Aven, Mayson, Ronan and Rielle) siblings (Shirley and Raymond) and nieces and nephews. Lloyd spent his childhood on the farm near Altamont. At the age of 15, he left to paint elevators in Saskatchewan. Numerous jobs followed with Lloyd eventually owning and operating Pembina Hills Transfer from 1976 to 1990. During these years Lloyd also sat on the Manitoba Trucking Association Board. Trucking gave Lloyd the chance to travel to most of the US and Canada. In 1999, Lloyd and Shirley picked up house and moved to Rock Lake. Here they found that lake life allowed them the opportunity to spend time fixing up their lot and house and meeting wonderful neighbours and friends. Lloyd and Shirley enjoyed travelling with family and friends and had many more adventures planned. Lloyd's greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren especially introducing them to nature, exploring and teaching them to keep their eyes open for life's simple pleasures. He touched the hearts of so many. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 12 at 1:00 p.m. at the United Church in Pilot Mound. Donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society (45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3) or a charity of your choice.
