CHARMAINE KATHLEEN STEEVES (nee FIGLER) After a very courageous and lengthy battle with cancer, it is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of Charmaine Kathleen on the evening of September 11, 2008. Charmaine was predeceased by her father Edward (Ted) Figler in 2001. Remaining to cherish her memory is her Life Partner Brenda of 10 years; son Justin Figler (Lori); daughter Jessica Figler; granddaughter Haylee Steeves; parents Janet Figler and Jan Kostyk; parents-in-law Ida and Bill Steeves; brothers, Gord (Johanna), Frank (Julia), Jeff (Wanda), Mike, Darryl (Orishya) Figler; brother-in-law Allen Steeves, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a very close family of friends . Charmaine was born February 10, 1958 in Winnipeg, MB, then moving to Calgary where she has spent her adult years. Charmaine was a very energetic person who undertook any task or hobby wholeheartedly, allowing her illness to only temper her resilience. She enjoyed gardening, time with the love of her life Brenda and her pride and joy Haylee . The family would like to extend their thanks to Dr's Hudy, Gelfand and Morris, the Palliative Home Care team, Tom Baker Cancer Centre, Rosedale Hospice and to Charmaine's family of friends for their ongoing love, strength and support to Charmaine, Brenda and Haylee and overwhelming kindness showered on the family these last few weeks. A private family service will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Following the service a Celebration of Life Reception will be held at The Royal Canadian Legion Forest Lawn Branch at 4:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Brenda Steeves in care of Haylee Steeves Fund at any TD Canada Trust Bank.
