MARCIA MCLEOD On October 9, 2008, Marcia succumbed to a cancer that she bravely fought for a year. She passed away peacefully in her sleep. Marcia was pre-deceased by her Mother, Emily Crompton, Father, Wilfred Desroche and Brother Bob Desroche. Marcia will be sadly missed by her son’s, Jamie Harrison and Matthew McLeod. She also leaves to morn her brothers Bill (Nancy) Crompton and Dean (Cheryl) Crompton, niece Shianne, nephews Shawn, Todd and Chris. She will be missed by many close friends and relations. Marcia was born in Portage La Prairie and moved to Winnipeg at age 5 where she spent most of her life except for a few years in Calgary. Marcia was a dedicated social worker, working with children in Calgary and Winnipeg’s core area. Her last job was with the Child Guidance Clinic in Winnipeg. Marcia had many interests. Among them was a love for animals, children and nature. She loved to camp with her dogs in Lundar Beach. She was an accomplished poet, musician, songwriter and prolific reader. Marcia also loved playing a few good games of pool once in a while. In accordance with Marcia’s wishes, a cremation has taken place. A memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 15th, 2008 at 2:00 pm at the Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd. (Corner of Inkster Blvd. & Keewatin St.) In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society or Cancer Care in her name.
