Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • My whole family took music lessons from jack and his son Don. Really good music teachers they were. They could listen to a song on the radio and then play it by ear. I took lessons, with my older brother. Also my mom took banjo and dad guitar. They gave me great songs to learn. Of course learning and keeping time with other musicians is painful and difficult in some ways. Will dearly miss Jack and Don songs like anchors away, will remain forever. - Posted by: Christopher phillip Vardalos (peer) on: Oct 13, 2024

  • Farm home north of city, 8 miles away. Took lessons for 5 years, participated in 2 recitals. At age about 12, terminated lessons because patient Jack, the writer of my music, which I still have, finally said to my Mum and Dad…. Maybe David’s interest is not there. Fast forward to high school and added stress of academics I picked up my guitar. Great appreciation for what Jack had given me. Now in 2021, I still have all my (Jacks) original tunes and pick up my $37.95 Harmony Spanish guitar and play.
