JOANA ALHO ROSA Peacefully on Saturday, November 15, 2008, our beloved mother and grandmother Joana passed away at the age of 83. She will be remembered and deeply missed by her daughter Aida; and son-in-law Manuel Governo; her granddaughter Giselle (Jeff) Martel; and grandson Jaime. Our mother and grandmother was born on August 2, 1925 in Moitas Venda (Alcanena) Portugal. She came to Canada in March 1968 with her husband Joao and daughter Aida settling in Winnipeg and working in the garment industry until her retirement in 1984. She is survived by one sister, two brothers, and sisters-in-law, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Canada, Portugal, France and Brazil. She was predeceased by her husband Joao in 1992, as well as her parents, two brothers and four sisters. The family wishes to express sincere thanks to family and friends for their prayers and support. Thank you as well to the staff of Calvary Place 3 South, for their care, kindness and compassion. A prayer service will be held at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin Street North on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. with Reverend Monsignor Maurice Comeault officiating.
