THOMAS PETER FAULKNER RN RPN B.Adm We regret the loss of Thomas Peter Faulkner with his family by his side and with the caring support of the staff of St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit on Monday, November 17, 2008. Thomas was the third son of Group Captain P.J. and Jean Faulkner and is survived by his wife of 58 years Margaret, children Patricia (Mike), Siobhan (Jeff) and Angela (Peter). He leaves behind grandchildren Dawn, Tom, Melissa, Max, Caitlin, Hailley, Nolan and Danielle. He also leaves behind his sister Jean and grandnieces and grandnephews overseas. Tom is survived by his extended in law family in Ireland. Tom was predeceased by his daughter Marilyn in 2001. Tom was born in Hartlepool, England in 1925. He joined the Merchant Marines at 15 and served in the Merchant Marines for eight years during the Second World War. He received his nurse's training at St. Joseph's Hospital where he met his Irish Colleen, Margaret. They immigrated to Canada in 1951 arriving first in Port Arthur before moving on to Winnipeg. After a long career in nursing and nursing administration Tom retired in 1988. Tom then pursued his hobbies of Ham Radio, woodworking and playing crib. Our deepest thanks and gratitude to the caring staff at St. Boniface Palliative Care who provided the highest quality care for Tom. Your kindness was greatly appreciated. The family would like to thank all the friends who visited, kept us in their thoughts and brought Margaret to the hospital. At Tom's request no flowers, the family invites you to donate to Palliative Care Endowment Fund or Cancer Care Manitoba. Tom lived his life with this motto: Live life without regrets, be kind to all you meet and try to make the world a better place. Funeral service will be held Friday, November 21, 7:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements. 775-2220.
