MARVIN DAVID PORTILLO JR. It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our son, brother, grandson and friend Marvin David Portillo Jr. on November 17, 2008. He leaves to mourn his mother Susi Portillo, father Marvin Portillo, sisters Pamela, Catherine and Maria Jose. He also leaves his maternal grandparents Diomedes and Zoila Lozano, paternal grandmother Rosa Portillo, as well as many extended family and friends. Marvin was born on June 10, 2001 and came into this world as an expected gift. He always had respect for others and loved spending time with his family. He was a strong little boy who always showed compassion for others. He spent his free time playing video games as he loved the challenge of trying to master them. Little boy, little boy, Life for you has gone God has taken you home from this land of fear On onionskin angel wings hov'ring near. Now I stand stooped in sadness with teary eyes Sorrowing to feel how time flies. While angels watch over you. Even though he touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed, he will live on in others through the giving of his last gift to those who needed a miracle. Prayers will be said at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, November 23, 2008 with viewing from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 24, 2008 at 1:00 p.m., St. Ignatius Church, 255 Stafford Street. Private family urn placement will be held in Green Acres Cemetery. Some boys are like fine crystal, too fragile for this world, but just right for His. Junior, you will be loved forever! GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery # 1 Green Acres Lane, (204) 222-3241 Life stories may be shared with friends and family across the globe at www.mem.com

  • Sweet sixteen today. Miss you kid - Posted by: Karleigh () on: Jun 10, 2017

  • My daughter went to daycare with Marvin and she is very sad that has left us. I just wanted to share what she said to me this morning on the way to daycare. She was sitting in the backseat and out of the blue said "It's too bad Marvin died. Well, at least it's fun 'up there'". I smiled and thought, "what a good point" He will be truly missed and I truly believe he will live on in those who knew him and the lives he saved. Rest in peace Marvin! xoxo - Posted by: MIchelle Zajaros (Acquaintance) on: Nov 21, 2008
