ALEXANDER MCPHERSON LOVE It is with deep regret that we announce the death of Alexander McPherson Love, husband, father , grandfather, and great-grandfather. Alex passed on November 26, 2008 at the Victoria General Hospital in Winnipeg, at 80 years of age. Alex is survived by Ann, his wife of 56 years, his children, Carol (Garth), Stuart (Brenda), and Heather (Joe). He will be missed by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jessica, Katrina, Lenin, Letecia, Lance, Mathew, Dayna, Lindsay, Morgan, Sean, Colton, Jayla, Devon, Savanah, and nephew Andy. Alex was born in Aberdeen, Scotland where he loved hiking, cycling, camping, and his music. Alex and Ann emigrated first to Australia in 1952, where Alex pursued his love of music, drumming with the Traglon Pipe Band. In 1956, Alex and Ann emigrated to Winnipeg where they have made their lives since. Alex worked for many years as a school custodian for the Fort Garry School Division, and after retirement in 1993, worked as a volunteer at the Victoria General Hospital for approximately ten years. Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 2, at the Seniors Room, 100 Adamar Road. The family would like to extend special thanks to Doctors Roland Hayward, Ian Maxwell, and the staffs of the Pembina Village Clinic and Victoria General Hospital, Mr. Thompson and the Staff of Pharmaplus, and Menno, at Rana Medical Supply. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be forwarded to the Lung Association of Manitoba.
