DANIEL FREE After a lengthy illness, Dan, passed away with his wife by his side, on Sunday, November 30, 2008, at the Poseidon Care Centre, at the age of 84 years. Dan will be remembered by his wife Vivian, of 43 years of marriage; daughters, Jackelyn (Doug), Penny (Roy); son Ron; daughter-in-law Betty; and the joys of his life, his 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Starting his career at CN, Dan later worked at Via Rail as a conductor for 47 years. Dan was a modest and humble man who was an inspiration to those around him. He gave without being asked and he asked for very little. Dan had an abundance of energy for others. A celebration of Dan's life will be held on Friday, December 5, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. in the Golden West Centennial Lodge, 811 School Road at Ness Avenue. Our family would like to thank the Victoria Hospital for their care over the last six months. In lieu of flowers donations, in Dan's memory, may be made to Siloam Mission, 300 Princess Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3B 1M3.
