EDOLF DARE Peacefully at the Golden Links Nursing Home on December 12, 2008 in his 92nd year. Ed leaves his wife Pauline of 69 years to cherish his memory. Loved father of Larry (Joyce), Lynda (Garth, deceased), Layne (deceased), Laraine (Fiancé, Ray). Dear grandfather of David (Lynn), Debbie (deceased) Scott (Jen), Dawn (Joe), great-grandfather of Jenny, Francesca, Stuart, Alec and Courtney. Great-great grandfather of Hailey. Ed was in the Air Force during the latter part of the Second World War. Throughout his adult life Ed enjoyed curling and especially ballroom dancing. He loved to write poetry, especially for his wife. In his retirement one of his greatest pleasures was to sit on his porch and watch the birds flying over at dusk. He even wrote a poem about the pleasure that gave him. Private family service will be held. Donations in Ed's memory to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Special thanks to the staff of Golden Links for this past year. When I must leave you When I must leave you For a little while Please do not grieve And shed wild tears And hug your sorrow To you through the years, But start out bravely With a gallant smile; And for my sake And in my name Live on and do All things the same, Feed not your loneliness On empty days, But fill each waking hour In useful ways, Reach out your hand In comfort and cheer And I in turn will comfort you And hold you near; And never, never Be afraid to die, For I am waiting for you in the sky!
