Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGOLDIE (GERRY) COHEN (nee GREENBERG) Goldie, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully in the company of her family, on December 10, 2008. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 57 years, Jack; her daughters, Sandra (Bob) and Cayla; her grandchildren Melissa and Sara; and her niece Jocelyn Engel and nephew Dr. Gordie Greenberg, both of Toronto. She was predeceased by her parents, Samuel and Annie Greenberg; her brother, Morris Greenberg; and her sister, Molly Krivel. Goldie was born on December 26, 1927 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. She and Jack raised their family in Moose Jaw. Goldie was a devoted homemaker. She loved cooking traditional Jewish holiday meals and entertaining her many friends. She was an active member of the Moose Jaw community, volunteering her time for Hadassah and Beta Sigma Phi. She also enjoyed dancing, bowling, golfing and many winter vacations in Palm Springs. Although health slowed her down in later years, she continued to enjoy activities and trips with her husband Jack. She was proud of her daughters' many accomplishments, and took pleasure in watching her granddaughters grow. The family would like especially to thank Dr. Sheldon Permak, as well as Ivy and the rest of the caring staff of the fourth floor at Victoria General Hospital who cared for Goldie. A service was held in Goldie's memory on Friday, December 12 at the Shaarey Zedek Synagogue. The family would like to thank Rabbi Alan Green and the many friends that expressed condolences. Memories of Goldie will last forever and her family and friends will always miss her. If desired, donations in Goldie's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
