AIME AUBIN On November 24, 2008, with family by his side, Father Aimé Aubin (Padre Amado) passed away at his home in Cochabamba, Bolivia. Funeral Services were held on November 25, 2008 at the Cathedral in Cochabamba, Bolivia. Born on November 5, 1923 at Letellier, Manitoba he was predeceased by his parents, Alice and Philippe Aubin, and his brothers, Médéric in 1995, Arthur (1932). Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Laurette and Jeannine Carriére (Neil Grandmont), brothers Marcel (Yvette), Laurent (Annie) and his sister-in-law Thérése. Father Aubin had several nieces and nephews, all who held a special place in his heart. Father Aimé Aubin was ordained on June 17, 1951 in St. Adolphe, Manitoba. In August 1953, he left Canada to start his missionary work in Bolivia. His love for the Bolivian people took him to the communities of Aymara of Huachacalla, Chipaya Corque, Huanuni, Oruro and Cochabamba. He enjoyed working with the Oblate Scholastics, lived with Theologians and served as chaplaincy of several jails for women and men. Padre Amado was a dedicated missionary whose talents for listening with compassion and understanding along with gifts of honesty, humility and simplicity served to inspire all who encountered him. A memorial service will be held at the St. Adolphe Roman Catholic Church on Friday, December 19, 2008 at 2:00 p.m.
