JERRY OPALKO On Sunday, December 14, 2008 at Concordia Hospital, Jerry Opalko, beloved husband of Gisela, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children Ken (Linda), David (Angie), Heidi (Ed), William; grandchildren Jayme, Matthew (Amanda), Jennifer (Paul), Wendy, Stephanie, great-grandchild Noah; five sisters, four brothers and their families. Dad was born in Poland on October 6, 1933. He immigrated to Canada from Germany in 1951. He married the love of his life in 1957. Dad loved his family, singing in the church choir for 50 years and fishing. Heartfelt thanks goes out to all of the health care professionals who have given care and support over the past four years. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2008 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, Winnipeg. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Calvary Temple, 440 Hargrave Street, Winnipeg.
