KATIE REIMER (nee KROEGER) January 16, 1913 December 21, 2008 It is with sadness we announce the passing of Katie Reimer on December 21, 2008 at the age of 95 years, in the Bethania Nursing Home. Beloved wife of the late Isaac Reimer for 70 years; Katie is survived by her three sons, Walter (Carole), Ernie (Myrna) and Paul (Dorothy); daughters Elsie Reimer and Hilda Yerxa (Bob), nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; her brother Walter Kroeger and his wife Gay of Kelowna. She was predeceased by her husband Isaac in 2003; grandson David; two sisters; and seven brothers. Katie was born in Barwenkowo, Russia and immigrated to Canada in 1928 settling in Winnipeg. A private family funeral service for Katie will be held on Monday, December 29, in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street, with Chaplain Gerhard Friesen, presider. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Chaplain Gerhard Friesen and the staff and volunteers at Bethania Personal Care Home for their kindness and care. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in Katie's memory may do so to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Crohns Society, Diabetic Association of Manitoba, or to the charity of one's choice.
