HAROLD FIDDLER Peacefully on December 26, 2008 at his residence in Selkirk, Harold Fiddler passed away at the age of 75 years. Dad was predeceased by his wife Janet, the love of his life in June, 2008. He was also predeceased by his parents Mary and Roderick; his brothers Ray, Frank and Len and his grandson David. Harold leaves to mourn his children Wendy, Lary (Lorie), Nola (Danny) and Lisa (Jerry), his grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is survived by his brother Jim (Ingalil) and his brother-in-law Tom (Penny). He will also be missed by his dog Forrest Gump. Dad spent his early years in Pine Dock, MB. He then moved to Selkirk where he met mom. They married in 1955 and spent many years following his job from province to province with their children. They made many friends over the years and kept in touch with most of them. Mom and dad settled in Selkirk to retire. Dad was a talented man who could fix, bake, build or rebuild just about anything. He was a pilot, an electrician, a fisherman, and an elevator mechanic. He was always willing and able to help all who asked. He was famous for his bannock and everyone loved Poppa's cookies. He loved a good story and a good laugh. He enjoyed family gatherings with the Prudens where there were plenty of both. Dad had a good life and enjoyed it to the fullest. He was proud of his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He was a devoted and loving husband. He missed mom very much and these last few months have been hard on him. Now they'll be together again. The family wishes to extend a huge thank you to the homecare girls for their care, compassion and friendship when dad needed them.
