FLORENCE ELIZABETH FEDYCK Suddenly at Selkirk General Hospital on December 24, Florence Elizabeth Fedyck aged 74 years old. Florence is survived by her loving children, daughter Debbie (Alvin) Thomas of Lac Du Bonnet, MB and children Brad (Angela) and Karen (John); son Robert (Pat) Sareault of Petersfield, MB and children Joclyn (Tom) and Jill; daughter Therese (Ron) White of Petersfield, MB and children Tiffany (Matty), Alanna (Dean), Lee (Jodi) and her step-children Debbie Smithson of Winnipeg, MB and Daryl (Marlene) Fedyck also of Winnipeg, MB; great-grandchildren, Liam Sareault and Parker Thomas; sisters, Margaret Schrader of Yorkton SK, Gerri (Alan) Herzke of Delta, BC, Sharon (Dyck) Brunner of Edmonton, AB and brother Grant (Noelle) Schrader of Yorkton, SK. Florence was predeceased by her husband Jack Fedyck in 2003. She was born on May 10, 1934 near Yorkton, SK and grew up in the town of Yorkton with her eight sisters and one brother. There she attended school and was involved in a lot of sports, softball and gymnastics were her favourites. Florence eventually settled in Selkirk, which became her permanent home. In her younger years, she was an active player and coach in softball and was quite a competitive curler. Florence also became an avid golfer later in life and in the summers, enjoyed playing on the many courses throughout Manitoba and in the winter, on the courses at Mission, Texas where her and Jack lived and made many friends. Florence served on the Centennial Committee in 1982 and was also an active member of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary where she once served as President. Florence was also one of the founders of the House of Economy in Selkirk, where she was an active volunteer and donated a lot of her time helping out. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 2, 2009, at Gilbart Funeral Home, 309 Eveline St., Selkirk, MB, with Pastor Stan Richards officiating. A private family interment of ashes will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6.
