Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySYLVIA ETTENHOFER Sylvia Ettenhofer passed away peacefully with family at her side on December 28, 2008 at her home in Vista Village in Pincher Creek at the age of 83 years. Sylvia is the loving mother of Len (Shirley) Ettenhofer of Okotoks, AB, Hank Ettenhofer of Calgary, AB, Raymond Ettenhofer of Winnipeg, MB, Elsie (Blaine) Krom of Didsbury, AB and Richard (Lori Jo) Ettenhofer of Pincher Creek, AB. Sylvia is also survived by 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren as well as her brother Oswald Lerach of Pittsburgh, PA, sisters Irma Sawicki of Calgary, AB, Renata Mooney, Hilda Saline, and Elsie Low all from Pittsburgh, PA. She was predeceased by her husband Karl, son Len and grandson Michael. Sylvia was a remarkable woman who was born in Romania and immigrated to Canada with her husband Karl after the Second World War, residing in Winnipeg, MB. She moved to Calgary with her family in 1973, and eventually moved to Pincher Creek after the death of Karl. Mom will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved her. She will be remembered as a kind, caring woman that loved cooking, baking, sewing and spending time with family. A funeral mass took place on December 31, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Church in Pincher Creek, AB with Father Eric Nelson officiating. Internment followed at the Okotoks Roman Catholic Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Sylvia's memory to Good Samaritans Vista Village, Box 1510, Pincher Creek, AB.
