He is survived by his ex-wife Helena, son Avelino and daughter Teresa; brother Avelino; sister-in-law Maria; nephew Manuel; brother Manuel; sister-in-law Ana; brother-in-law Antonio; nephew Sergio; niece Eliana and nephew Manuel. A prayer service will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in the Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd., Jose then will be taken back to Portugal for burial.
