BENOIT JOSEPH LOUIS LACROIX (March 5, 1932 January 18, 2009) It is with deep sadness that we announce Benoît's sudden passing. Ben leaves to mourn his wife of 51 years, Elise, children Ben (Gina) and Belinda, grandchildren, Svetlana and André, of whom he was very proud, sister Solange (Jack) Van Den Bossche, as well as step-sisters Béatrice, Annette, and Olivine. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was predeceased by his mother Cécile Lacroix (née Hamel), father Louis, sister Dorothée, brothers Lucien, Charles, Marcel, and André, and step-brother Jean. Ben was a talented man of many passions and interests. His life was rich in classical music; his accomplished playing of the piano and guitar warmed the hearts and souls of his family and friends. His life was also filled with a love of nature, having been born and raised in St. Claude, MB. Throughout his life, he actively sought to increase the depth and breadth of his knowledge and he actively pursued interests in computers, photography, gliding, and reading, particularly on the subjects of astronomy and physics. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 24 at 1:00 pm at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. 586-8044
