Jacqueline was born on June 5, 1931 at the St. Boniface Hospital and raised in Ste. Agathe, MB and worked as a school teacher in the rural areas of Southern Manitoba and in the City of Winnipeg. Jacqueline is survived by her sister Céline Catellier and sister-in-law Germaine Gauthier. As well as the Van Kriken Family, the Wur Family, the Catellier Family, the Gagnon Family, the Desrosiers Family, the Gauthier Family and many other grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Jacqueline was predeceased by her parents, Ferdinand Gauthier and Corinne Lapointe; her second husband Stan Wur; her first husband Hubert Van Kriken; and her son Maurice; and also her sisters, Thérèse (Lucien Desrosiers), Denise (Roland Gagnon); and her brother Henri (Germaine). Jacqueline had a great sense of humour and enjoyed being with family and friends. Whenever family gatherings were planned, Jacqueline would be the life of the party, as everyone enjoyed talking to her and enjoyed kibitzing with her. Jacqueline had a large circle of friends, from school teachers to parish priests, to distant acquaintances. It was amazing that she was able to remember all these people by name and only had kind things to say about them. Jacqueline's beautiful smile, contagious laugh, warmth, and presence will be deeply missed by all. She will forever be in our hearts. Cremation has taken place and the ceremony to celebrate Jacqueline's life will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at l'Eglise Catholique St. Eugène, 1007 St. Mary's Road with L'Abbe Carrière officiating. A eulogy will begin at 10:45 a.m. followed by the funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. A gathering of family will follow in the Transcona Cemetery where Jacqueline will be laid to rest next to her cherished son, Maurice.
