Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWARD FILIPIAK October 14, 1955 - April 12, 2009 Peacefully on Sunday, April 12 at Riverview Health Centre, Edward Filipiak passed away after a brief illness at the age of 53 years. Ed was predeceased by his parents, Stan and Anna, also his sister Sophie Kaszas. Ed leaves to mourn his passing his sisters, Lucy and Wanda, nieces Bonnie, Leslie (Andy), Raquelle, Kristen, Amber and Nicole, great-nephew Draven, brother-in-law Les, and all his Buds at Boogies. A funeral service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., Winnipeg, on Saturday April 18 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery. This response is way past due. Eddy was a good friend of mine growing up on Magnus in the northend. He lived a couple doors down from us and my older brother, Marshall, and I, thought of Eddy as a superman because he would attempt anything. When he moved out of his parents place to his own next door, I would often visit him and we would listen to music and have a couple brews. I know his sisters, had a crush on Wanda, and his bro in law Les. I doubt anyone will read this after all this time. I left Winnipeg when I was 19 and lost touch with Eddy.
