Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEMILIA PIENIUTA Peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2009, our beloved mother, babcia Emilia Pieniuta, 84, left us to be with the Lord. She leaves to mourn, her only son Jan (Zofia), grandchildren Richard (Lori), Joseph, Maria (Roman), Michael (Aynsley) along with great- grandchildren Melissa, Jennifer, Nicholas, Ashley and Joe Jr. She also leaves her brother Mikolaj (Janina) and numerous nieces and nephews from Australia and Philadelphia. Emilia was predeceased by husband Piotr and her parents Anna and Michael. Emily was born on August 15, 1925 in Trybuchowce, Poland. She married her late husband Piotr and gave birth to her only child Jan. In 1973, Emily and Piotr immigrated to Canada and settled in Winnipeg. She worked at the Sharon Home for numerous years until she retired. Emily was a very generous person who always put others before herself. Her passions in life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed listening to Polish and Ukrainian music and playing her harmonica regularly. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at the Health Sciences Centre (4th Floor GA). Prayers will take place Thursday, April 16 at 7:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 17 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave. Both services with an Oblate Father officiating. Active Pallbearers will be Michael Pieniuta, Joseph Pieniuta, Richard Pieniuta, Roman May, Myron May and Gerry May. Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
