JOHANNA (ANNIE) NABER Suddenly, on Tuesday, August 4, 2009, Annie passed away at the Charleswood Care Centre at the age of 97 years. She was predeceased by her husband Sjaac, in November 1985. Annie and her husband left the Netherlands in 1954 and made Winnipeg their new home. She is survived by several nieces and other family members, all living in Holland. She loved animals. Much of her life was devoted to caring for her dogs. They were her family . She enjoyed long walks in the park with them. Her other special interest was Petit Point. She skillfully created many award winning embroidery pictures; in fact, one of her submitted entries earned her a trophy as the best entry in the contest. Annie was a caring and generous person, with an outgoing personality and a great smile. Annie loved when people came by for a visit, this would give her a chance to show her latest embroidery work in progress . Her friends would like to thank the staff at the Charleswood Care Centre for the excellent care she received during the almost two years she resided there. The celebration of Annie's life will be held on Monday, August 10, at Neil Bardal Inc., 3030 Notre Dame Avenue (across from Brookside Cemetery) at 11:30 a.m. with viewing at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Annie's favourite charity, the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB, R3T 0R3.
