MELVIN GLEN LOUTIT Suddenly, on September 18, 2009 at his residence, Glen Loutit, aged 45 years. Glen was born on November 9, 1963 to Melvin and Marie. He is survived by his father Melvin (Bud); his best friend Jeff; his very special friend Natalie; as well as his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. His family and friends meant a lot to him and he will be greatly missed. He was predeceased by his mother on August 29, 2003. While Glen was attending High School in Selkirk, his interest in autobody and painting began, turning from a hobby to his livelihood in later years. While in school he worked afternoon shifts at the Freshwater Fish plant, where his mother worked until her passing. He also worked a number of years for Abex Steel Foundry in Selkirk before seriously undertaking his passion for autobody and painting. Glen made many friends through work and will be sadly missed by all. Glen was a member of the Selkirk and District Pipe Band from a very young boy into his adulthood. He has seen many cities in Canada and the United States traveling to band competitions over the years. In earlier years, Glen enjoyed boating, camping, waterskiing and dirtbiking. He also had a great interest in astrology and made astrological charts for many. He shared Friday night suppers with Ken, widower to his mother. He loved animals, and enjoyed time spent with Bruno, a dog he shared with his dad. Glen was very good friends with all our neighbours offering a helping hand when they needed it. He also thought of other people before himself. In closing a loving goodbye to my son Glen. You don't know how much you will be missed. My love for you will continue on forever. Have a wonderful journey in the After Life. Your loving father with heartfelt love from my special lady, Nancy. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 25 at 1:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Selkirk. Honorary pallbearers will be his cousins, Chris, Scott and Patrick and good friends, Jeff, Darryl and Paul. Flowers are gratefully declined and donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
