Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryREGINALD ALEXANDER PIERCE December 30, 1945 - October 12, 2009 Passed away peacefully in Victoria, B.C. with his family at his side. Reg grew up in Winnipeg, graduating from Tec Voc High School. He joined Pollock and Wright Land Surveyors in Winnipeg which ultimately led him to a career in cartography with the BC Hydrographic Service and his great love of the sea. His travels took him to places far away and he made many new friends along the way. As with many seamen, Reg could always be counted on to regale us with many an interesting story. A lifelong student of the world, nature and people, he was always a great source of knowledge and wisdom. We will never forget. Reg was predeceased by his mother Kathleen and very special uncles, Sid and Andy. He will be deeply missed by his brother Wayne (Lynda); daughter Sherry (Keith); son Sean (Jean) and his nieces Adrea, Carla and Erin; grandchildren, Mitchell, Brock, Drew, Quinten, Miles, Januki, Maddison, MacKenzie, Mason and McLean. Reg was affectionately known as Gumpa to his grandchildren who he loved to spend time with and be the biggest kid of them all. The family wishes to thank the Victoria Hospice for their care and to Reg's good friend Randy Puetz for always being there for him. In memory of Reg's life, donations can be directed to Victoria Hospice, Victoria, B.C. As per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. God saw you getting weary, A cure was not to be, He put His arms around you, And whispered, Come to Me.
