As did many men at that time, he left school to work on the family farm. From there he went to work in the peat fields in Moss Spur, Manitoba, retiring in 1996 after 47 years of service. In 1959, Andy married the love of his life, Bernice (Nowicki). Together they raised a family on the farm they established in Eastdale. Prior to his passing, he was blessed to be able to celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary in the company of close family and friends. In retirement, Andy's farm interests shifted from working the land to cutting and selling firewood to friends and neighbours. He found special joy in volunteering his time to church ministries and the Knights of Columbus at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Beausejour, Manitoba. Prayers will be held on Sunday evening, November 1, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 530 Atlantic Avenue, Beausejour, Manitoba.
