DON RAY SMITH March 1, 1941 - November 9, 2009 Peacefully on November 9, 2009, Don passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital, with his loving family by his side. Don is predeceased by his parents, brother Eldon and sister Geraldine. He is survived by his wife Gayle, children Daryl (Leona), Rhonda (Leighton), Mandy (Ryan), his nine brothers and three sisters; he also leaves his grandchildren Jordan, Bryce and Coral. Don was born and raised on the family dairy farm in Lake Francis, Manitoba, later taking over the farm from his Dad and worked on the farm until 1977. He then went to work for Rosewood Bulk Milk hauling for 32 years. He enjoyed golfing, camping, playing sports with his kids and singing old hymns. His true love was time spent with his family. Don was a man who loved God and served the Lord with his kind, gentle, quiet spirit. He truly had a heart of gold. Funeral Service will be on held Friday, November 13, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd., with Pastor Billy Chaitram officiating. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery. Donations may be made to the St. Boniface Cardiac Sciences Program - Dr. Freed.
