Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT (BOB) SCOBEL In Burlington, Ontario, after a short but courageous battle with cancer and with Penny by his side, Bob died peacefully on November 7, 2009 at the age of 67. He is survived by his loving wife Penny, son Greg (Lisa), daughter Pam Koblun, and four grandchildren, Aaron, Kendall, Kyle and Cheyenne. Bob was born and raised in the west end of Winnipeg. He married the love of his life, Penny Daniel, in 1962. Bob's job required them to relocate to the Toronto area in 1988. Bob enjoyed a lengthy career as an account manager in the packaging industry except for two brief sojourns into the car rental and sporting goods businesses. He was active in many sports during his lifetime including football, hockey and baseball while in Winnipeg. More recent interests included curling, lawn bowling, and golf, but he especially loved to ride his horse and participate in local team roping events. He had many true friendships and will be missed by all. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff of the Carpenter Hospice for their care and compassion. They would also like to thank relatives and friends who provided support during this time. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Glen Oaks Memorial Chapel, 3164 Ninth Line (403 and Dundas), Oakville, 905-257-8822.
