Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFAYE FEUER (nee KAHAN) We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Faye Feuer (nee Kahan) on November 9, 2009. Faye was an eishes chayil', a loving wife and wonderful mother and baba. Born in a Jewish farming community near Lipton, SK, she was the dear daughter of Avraham and Shaindel and cherished sister of Irwin, Benny and Jack. Faye and her husband Elliot farmed near Ratcliffe, SK, until 1961 when they moved to Winnipeg, operating grocery stores until 1968. Faye worked for the Manitoba Health Services Commission until retirement in 1989. She and Elliot enjoyed many happy times at the Gwen Secter where Faye often volunteered. Known for her caring nature and warm hospitality, Faye was always young in spirit with a sense of fun and humour. Her love for her children and grandchildren was boundless. Stricken with severe osteoporosis, hearing loss and then Alzheimer's, she faced her greatest challenge in later years, but her feisty spirit and playful nature could not be suppressed by illness. Faye will be sadly missed by her husband of 61 years, Elliot, brother Irwin, children Ed (Linda), Shelley Kasman (Steve) and Sherman, as well as grandchildren Avital (Michael Karpman), Shira, Daniel, Sarah, Jasmine Bachinsky (Guy), Nina and Avishai and great-grandchildren Yuval and Shiloh. Funeral services were held at Congregation Etz Chayim led by Rabbi Larry Lander. Pallbearers were Charles Feuer, Steve Kasman, Daniel Kasman, Brian Feuer, Jeremy Feuer and Ken Bass. Special thanks to the staff on the Alzheimer's unit of the Simkin Centre for their warmth and kindness. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba (for research).
