GORD TAYLOR 1946 - 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gord Taylor after a short battle with cancer. He died peacefully at home, with his family by his side, Friday, November 27, 2009. Gord will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 40 years, Susan; sons, Monty (Jeanette), Matthew (Dora); grandson Zachary; nephew Sean Gregson (Shawn); mother-in-law June Mitchell; brothers-in-law, Monty (Wendy), Bill, Fred; nephews, Beau, Curtis, Jared, Michael, Tyler; nieces, Hailey, Kandace, Taylor G.; cherished family friends, Barb, John, Laurene and Melanie, and numerous other special friends and colleagues. Gord was predeceased by his parents, Hazel and David; sister Beverly; and father-in-law Jack. Gord was born in Montreal on May 21, 1946. He was very much involved in sports as a young man. However it was his passion for golf that shone through, and lasted a lifetime. Gord moved to Winnipeg in 1966 and three years later married the love of his life Susan. He started a career in real estate in 1974 which lasted 35 years. He enjoyed weekend trips to the cabin, winter vacations, spending time with family and friends, and golf with the guys. All of us will remember Gord's quick wit, optimism and generosity. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 3 at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 9Z9.
