DEBORAH JILL SMYTHE 1971 - 2009 Debbie, beloved daughter of Jim and Ursula, passed away on November 30, 2009 at Grace Hospice after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was predeceased by her grandparents Marguerite and Eneas Smythe, her Oma Klara Kehl and her dad Jim. She leaves to mourn her mother Ursula, brother Christopher (Stephanie), nieces Olivia, Clara, Julia, and nephew Nicolas, her Uncle Eneas and all her many friends and relatives. Debbie was a gifted and proud member of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, where she played violin for ten years. Major Squeeze is a local band that gave her musical talents another outlet. Shortly before entering palliative care, Debbie edited and published a book of poetry, Time for a Rhyme', with the help of Kate Bitney (Aqua Books). The family wishes to thank Dr. G. Schroeder (Health Sciences Centre) and Dr. P. Daeninck (St. Boniface Hospital) and nurse Tracey for their excellent care. To the staff at Riverview Health Centre and Grace Hospice, a huge thank-you for outstanding care. A very special thank-you is extended to members of the W.S.O. and personal friends who were very attentive to Debbie's needs, and were extremely generous with their time. The family is deeply touched by all that you provided to ease Debbie's passing.
