Friends are invited to join the family for a brief reception beginning at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street. Those wishing to attend the graveside service may join the procession to Brookside Cemetery following the reception. I'll always remember Aunty Irene's gracious hospitality in her home in Winnipeg and how we came to visit in 1979 with our 7 month baby boy. Aunty Irene had a lovely "coffee" spread prepare, and the carpet was almost completely covered with a clean white sheet. She was very gracious when my sweet boy crawled over to the very edge of the sheet and spat up on the beautiful carpet. We all had a good laugh, after we blotted the carpet, about how you can't prepare for everything, Aunty Irene was a good sport.
