BETTY MUNCER January 16, 1929 - December 20, 2009 Content and at peace, Betty Muncer passed away on December 20, 2009 at the Grace Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents, Oscar and Anna Lindblom, her siblings Forest, Grant, Jean, Phyllis, Adelaide and Carole and her first husband Reginald Muncer. She will be missed immensely by her devoted and loving husband Ronald; her children Larry (Lorraine) of Minaki, Ontario, Carolynne (Mike) of Invermere, BC and Terry of Sechelt, BC; her stepchildren Stuart (Sandy) of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Judy (Garry) of Garson, and Susan (Dan) of Winnipeg, Manitoba; her grandchildren Tyler (Carolynne), Bob, Mike and Jeff (Larry), Beau (Terry); and her siblings Ford (Saskatoon) and Joyce (Vancouver). Betty also leaves her sisters-in-law Margie (Dryden), Ruth (Surrey) and Jeannie (Saskatoon) and their families with fond and loving memories. Betty was born in Naicam, Saskatchewan, on January 16, 1929. She spent her childhood on the farm and moved to Winnipeg with her sister in her early 20s, where she married her first husband, Reginald Muncer, and had three children. As a stay at home mom, she was actively involved with Girl Guides Canada and the church. In 1967, Betty and Reg moved to Minaki to take over the Muncer family marina and construction business. Betty ran the financial end of the business and worked hard on the lake, opening and closing cottages and keeping her staff organized and on task. Betty was dedicated to her community and served on many executives and committees during her 32 years in Minaki. She married her second husband Ron in 1999 and moved first to Pinawa and then to Winnipeg, where they spent her remaining years together. Betty's nurturing ways, welcoming, warm heart and quick wit endeared her to every person whose life she touched. Her door was always open, the coffee was always on and there was always a place at the table for family, friends, customers and the many who called her mom . She was a loyal friend, a wonderful mother and a loving wife. Although we will miss her spunky words of advice and wisdom, her beautiful blue eyes and bright smile, her infectious giggle and her warm hugs, we know that she is happy and breathing easy. A Celebration of Betty's life will be held on Monday, December 28, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Andrews Anglican Church at 2700 Portage Avenue in Winnipeg. Her ashes will be placed on the family property in Minaki at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in memory of Betty may be made to the Grace Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice.
