GERALD NEIL FATHERS October 15, 1941 - December 26, 2009 It is with great sadness that the family of Gerald (Jerry) Fathers announces his passing after a well-fought battle with cancer. Left to cherish his memory are his loving partner, Gladys, his three special sons Douglas, Steven (Lucy), Robert (Cheryl), grandchildren, extended family and numerous friends. Jerry was born in Windsor, Ontario. At 18 he joined the Canadian Forces and retired 26 years later. He also worked for Sears Warehouse and operated Spirit Martial Arts until his retirement in 1999. He will be remembered in so many different ways - his big smile, hearty laugh, twinkling blue eyes and generous heart. He loved talking with family and friends, travelling, spending the winters in Florida and Texas. Playing bridge and cooking, especially those fabulous turkey dinners. We knew we could not keep you forever but we will love and remember you forever. We will always cherish the wonderful memories we had together. In compliance with Jerry's wishes, no formal funeral will be held. However, a private celebration of his life will be held at a later date. A special thanks to the medical staff at Health Sciences Centre, Riverview Health Centre and Grace Hospice for their care and compassion during this difficult time.
