GARY STEVEN KRESS Gary Steven Kress, beloved husband, father and son, passed away unexpectedly on February 8, 2010 at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 58 years. Besides his wife Gail, he is survived by two sons, Graham, Victoria, BC and Andrew, Winnipeg. He also leaves to mourn his passing his mother, Lee Kress, brother Brian (Donna Minkus), father-in-law Peter Berezowecki (Mary Ilchyshyn), brothers-in-law Reg (Denise, Dylan), Rod (Brenda, Jeffrey, Jarret), aunt and uncles, Ollie and Paul Kowal and Steve Kress. He was predeceased by his father Frank, 1987 and mother-in-law Nancy, 1993. Gary was born and raised in Winnipeg. He completed high school at Garden City Collegiate and received his BSc in Zoology from the U of M. His chosen career path was in park services, first with Parks Canada as a warden and then as a Park Ranger and NRO with the Province of Manitoba. Recently he began a second career as an ice technician. Golf and chess were two of his passions. He couldn't be happier than on a golf course or with a chessboard. He had a love and respect for all living creatures, often caring for wildlife in his home. The family would like to thank the Winnipeg Paramedic Service for their heroic efforts and the staff on D2 at Health Sciences. Gary will be sadly missed by his family and friends. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, R3T 0R3 or to a charity of their choice. A private family service will be held.
