JACQUELINE MICHELLE GOUPIL Peacefully with family by her side, Jacqueline passed away at Foyer Valade on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at the age of 77 years. Jacqueline will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of 52 years, Gabriel, two daughters Dominique Esteves and Evelyne (Rob) and two cherished grandchildren Kylie and Paul. She was born in Mazeres, France on June 16, 1932. She immigrated to Canada in 1955. On her journey to Canada she met her husband to be, Gabriel, and they started their adventure in Uranium City, SK. They later moved to Thompson where they raised their family. Many of her favourite memories were spent at the cottage at Setting Lake. She enjoyed fishing, snaring, berry picking, gardening, and entertaining family and friends. Her greatest passion was her culinary talent. She often shared her love of cooking with her family by hosting many elaborate meals and gatherings. Upon retirement Gabriel and Jacqueline split their time between Winnipeg, France and Setting Lake. She championed her grandchildren by encouraging, teaching and attending every activity and event. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 15, 2010 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of the 2nd Floor at Foyer Valade, CancerCare Manitoba, Homecare and 8th Floor Palliative Care St. Boniface. In lieu of flowers, if people wish to honour her memory, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. Tu seras pour toujours présent en nous coeurs GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 982-7550

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • We are very, very, sorry that Jackie left her dear family and friends for whom she cared so much. We met Jackie in 1972 and became neighbours and good friends at once. It was a friendship for a life time. Our children played together, went to the same schools and are still friends after all this time. We liked Jackie for her intelligence and common sense. We wish she had a chance to write her memoirs. We are not in her book, but we were all in her thoughts. We love you, Jackie. Rest in peace.
