PATRICIA DAVIS (nee HANMER-JONES) February 15, 1914 - March 19, 2010 Peacefully on March 19, 2010, at the age of 96, Pat Davis passed away at the Grace Hospital. Pat was predeceased by her loving and devoted husband, Alf (May 2003), her parents Gilbert and Tryphena, her sisters Gladys and Enid. She will be dearly remembered by her daughter Penny Debrowski, son-in-law Ted, beloved grandson Michael and nephew Trevor Stewart. Pat had a wonderful, full life. She loved life to the fullest and had a terrific sense of humour. Mom grew up in the Riverview area and in August 1940, married Alf. In 1957, they became long-term St. James residents, moving to Birchwood Heights, where they remained until 2000 when they moved into the Metropolitan Kiwanis Courts. Since then, Pat resided at the Kiwanis Courts, where she received incredible care and support from the staff. Special thanks to those wonderful people. Pat loved people, socializing and being active. She and Alf travelled extensively and at the age of 90, she experienced two cruises, which she thoroughly enjoyed. When younger, she was a member of the Assiniboine Golf and Curling Clubs and the Bourkevale Lawn Bowling Green. When no longer able to participate in sports, she became a curling and golfing spectator. Pat loved playing bridge and crib and was a regular at the Kiwanis Courts' crib nights. Until a week ago, Pat participated in exercise classes offered at the Kiwanis and spoke highly of the volunteers who gave so freely of their time. Sincere thanks to the staff in emergency and the 5th floor at the Grace Hospital for their compassionate care of Pat during her last four days. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations may be made in Pat's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, P.O. Box 2248, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4A6. Pat's tremendous spirit and wit will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A celebration of Pat's life will be held Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Kiwanis Court, 2300 Ness Avenue at 1:30 p.m. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
