ARTHUR MILLNS July 12, 1928 - March 18, 2010 With great sorrow, we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, brother, dearly loved husband and best friend. Left to remember and cherish his memory and love are his wife Ann, of almost 55 years, his children, Sally (Bory's), David (Lisa), and Kate (Ashley), grandchildren Renée, Ethan, Carlynne, Sarah, Darian and Matthew, sisters Evelyn, Sally and Madge and extended family. Arthur was born and grew up in Yorkshire, England. He served in the British Army of Occupation for two years after the Second World War. He received his training as a machinist at B T H Rugby England. He met Ann in 1949; they were married in 1955 and immigrated to Canada in 1956 settling in Toronto. The family came to Winnipeg in 1973 when Arthur accepted a position at Bristol Aerospace where he worked until his retirement in 1993. Arthur was a man of many interests and talents. He enjoyed curling, golfing, fishing, history, Shakespeare and singing. He was an avid modeler from childhood and continued his passion into adulthood and retirement, building R/C aircraft models. He was a late member of Winnipeg Headingley Aero Modelers. He was fascinated by the stars, even building his own telescope. He loved to dabble in watercolours, and allowed us all to share in this love by giving his pictures to family members. The family extends their gratitude to Doctors Breckman, Zacharias, Inglis, and Homik and to the W.R.H.A. Palliative Homecare staff for their kind support and care. Friends are invited to a celebration of his life on Thursday, March 25 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Arthur to a charity of your choice. Good night sweet prince, may choirs of angels sing thee to thy rest Chapel Lawn 885-9715
