JEAN MILDRED BALL (nee EHRHART) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jean on March 23, 2010, after suffering a stroke following her brave battle with Alzheimer's. At the age of 83, she was predeceased by husband Bob, mother Julia Ehrhart, stepdad Ival Ehrhart, brother Gordon, sister Myrna. Jean was also a beloved mother to daughter Myrna (Richard), sons Robert (Janet), David (Susan) and Keith (Joanne). Also left to cherish her memories are grandchildren Corinne, Earl, Michael, Lindsay, Jeffrey, Kyle, Davis, Julia, Philip and Robert, and great-grandchildren Mia, Tessa, Alyssa, Alivia, Carmen, Emily and Lucas. Jean, born in Winnipeg on July 5, 1926, spent most of her childhood in Brunkhild, MB, and moving back to Winnipeg by her late teens. Shortly after, she began working at Walter Woods Hardware Store, where she met her husband, Bob. Together they raised their four children, and enjoyed 54 years of marriage. In her later years, Jean spent most of her time volunteering at hospitals, attending church, square dancing and bowling. Bob and Jean also shared a great fondness for travelling, including camping at Rushing River and many exotic cruises. Jean was a wonderful homemaker, and loving wife and mother. To those who knew her, she truly was the most gentle, kind, generous person you could ever meet. She will always be in our hearts, forever missed and loved. Jean resided at The Rosewood in her final years and then later moved to Golden Links Lodge. Jean's family would like to thank the staff at Golden Links Lodge for their care and compassion, and also a special thanks to Dr. Salem. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 30 at 1:00 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 1311 Dakota Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimer Society, Unit 10 - 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2 THOMSON IN THE PARK 925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com
