SIMONE DAWSON Thanks be to God for the life of Simone Dawson, wife, mother and grandmother. Mom was released from her suffering on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at the Grace Hospital at the age of 79 years. Simone was born and raised in Quebec City. After graduation as a Bilingual Secretary, she served five years with the R.C.A.F. in Quebec and overseas. While in Germany, she met Walt and they returned to Canada to marry. Thereafter, life in the air force took their growing family to various postings in Canada, Germany, and Scotland. Walt's last posting was to Winnipeg where they retired, and they spent the last 35 years. Retirement saw Walt and Simone wintering in Harlingen, TX and travelling to Eastern Canada in the summers. As Simone's fight with Parkinson's began to take a larger toll on her energy, and Walt was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, Brian took on the role of caregiver, allowing them both to remain in their home until recently. Predeceased by daughter Susan, she leaves behind Walt, son Brian, daughter-in-law Brigitte and grandchildren Elise and Bennett; and extended family in Quebec and Ontario. A private family interment will follow at a later date. We extend our thanks to staff at Grace Hospital. Much love back to the sisterhood who rallied around us these past few months, and Ralph and the guys who helped us to soldier on. Peace be with you.
